On this iconic full-day interpretive adventure, you will travel the entire tongue of the Athabasca Glacier. Our professional ACMG certified guides will lead you to the stunning icefalls at the head of the valley, where you will enjoy your lunch among the seracs (pillars of ice) and towering peaks of the Canadian Rockies. The longer tour provides more opportunities to explore the glacier and learn about the unique features of this frozen landscape.
2026 Dates: We are currently not taking bookings for the Full-Day tours. Once we determine the schedule, reservations will open (likely in early November).
The Full Day Deluxe tours are offered June 13 to September 20. The season is slightly shorter due to snow accumulation on the upper glacier in the early and late season.
Departure Time: 10:15 AM
Duration: Approximately 6 hours.
Hike Profile: The hike is roughly 8.5 km (5 miles) roundtrip, gaining 330 m (1000 feet) of elevation. The difficulty level is rated as moderate to challenging, there are steep sections throughout the hike and the terrain can be undulating with varied footing.
Adult Price: $198.15 CDN, plus 5% GST.
Child Price: $96.40, plus 5% GST. Must be 7-16 years of age.
