Discover the glaciers of the Columbia Icefield on interpretive Icewalks led by experienced guides

Athabasca Glacier Icewalks

Since 1985, our certified guides have safely introduced visitors to the mysteries of this striking landscape. They are passionate about this place and eager to share with you how glaciers form, their key features and the impact glaciers have on eco-systems near and far. You’ll get a firsthand view of gaping chasms and the tremendous power of moving ice.

Join us late from May through early October for an Icewalk and experience for yourself why the Athabasca Glacier is a “must see” on any visit to the Canadian Rockies. It’s a one and a half hour drive from Jasper or three hours from Banff, making it a perfect day trip along the spectacular Icefields Parkway. No technical skills are required, just an interest in learning about this area and an ability to walk on uneven ground.
