If you wish to participate in an Icewalk, we will ask that you read and sign the following assumption of risk and waiver of liability:

RELEASE FROM LIABILITY AND WAIVER OF ALL CLAIMS
WARNING: By signing this document you give up the right to sue
TO: ATHABASCA GLACIER ICEWALKS, Ltd.

In consideration of Athabasca Glacier Icewalks, Ltd, or any employees or agents (herein called the "Company") accepting my application and being permitted to go on a guided glacier hiking trip (herein called an "Icewalk") on lands owned by the Crown, or elsewhere, I agree to this release of claims, waiver of liability and assumption of risks (collectively this "Agreement").
I waive any and all claims I may have against, and release from all liability and agree not to sue: the Company, its owners, employees, mountain guides, agents and representatives (collectively the "staff'), AND Her Majesty the Queen in Right of Canada, as represented by the Minister of the Environment, for any personal injury, death, property damage or loss sustained by me as a result of my participation in an Icewalk with the Company due to any cause whatsoever including, without limitation, negligence on the part of the guide or the staff.
I am aware that hiking on glaciers and participation in an Icewalk can have extreme dangers and risks, some of which include:
1. Mountain Terrain
-   Glaciers and mountainous areas with steep slopes in their natural state have obstacles and hazards, are not regularly patrolled or examined and have areas where communication is difficult and rescue and medical treatment may not be available.
-   Deep millwells, crevasses, or other holes, fissures or crevices may be hidden from view and not apparent to hikers.   Glacier ice can be very slippery, and ice conditions can change rapidly, without warning, in a short time or distance.  Streams on the glacier, or elsewhere, flow rapidly and have slippery banks.
2. Weather - weather conditions may be extreme and can change rapidly without warning. Snow, rain, hail and thunder and lightning can occur at any time of the year, and any time of day or night.
3. Conduct of the guide or staff - the conduct, including negligence, of the guide and/or the staff and the conduct of other Icewalkers.
I willingly accept all the risks of Icewalking, including without limitation the risks described above and the possibility of personal injury, death, property damage or loss resulting therefrom.  I acknowledge that the enjoyment and excitement of glacier hiking is derived in part from hiking or climbing on glaciers and in mountainous terrain and that the inherent risks of glacier hiking contribute to such enjoyment and excitement.
In entering into this agreement I am not relying on any oral or written representatives or statements made by the guide or the staff including those in any brochures to induce me to go on an Icewalk.
I confirm that I am of the Age of Majority (full age of eighteen years in Alberta) and that I have read and understood this Agreement prior to signing it and agree that this Agreement will be binding upon my heirs, next of kin, executors, administrators and successors. Children under the age of eighteen must have this waiver signed by a parent or guardian.
